TET Capital and Gate Japan Co-Host Digital Finance Event

Leading players from Japan and abroad take the stage under the theme of “Cross-Border Fund Movement and the Rebuilding of Financial Infrastructure / Expanding RWA (Real-World Asset Tokenization) Use Cases”

On June 13, 2026, Tokyo Emerging Technologies Capital (operated by Nova Capital Advisory Inc.; hereinafter “TET Capital”) co-hosted the digital-finance event “The New Currents of Digital Finance — Cross-Border Fund Movement and the Rebuilding of Financial Infrastructure / Expanding RWA Use Cases” together with Gate Japan Co., Ltd. at Gate Japan’s new office in Tokyo Midtown Yaesu. As TET Capital’s first large-scale event, it spotlighted the frontier of rapidly advancing blockchain finance, featuring keynote sessions and panel discussions by leading players from Japan and abroad, with a lively exchange of views.

Event Overview

The event was co-hosted by TET Capital—which specializes in advanced technologies such as blockchain, AI, and quantum computing and provides investment and advisory services—and Gate Japan Co., Ltd., the Japanese entity of Gate Group, one of the world’s top crypto-asset exchanges. TET Capital CEO Yutaro Hiyama and Gate Japan CEO Nicolas Jin delivered the opening remarks. Centered on “Cross-Border Fund Movement and the Rebuilding of Financial Infrastructure” and “Expanding RWA Use Cases,” the program featured a keynote followed by a two-part panel discussion (Japanese and English sessions) and networking. The venue drew a diverse, cross-industry audience including financial institutions, securities firms, Web3 businesses, and investors.

Keynote — The Big Picture of Digital Finance and RWA

In the keynote, Haruo Narimoto, Partner Attorney at TMI Associates, gave an overview of the new currents of digital finance. He explained that the global RWA market balance has reached roughly USD 30 billion (about JPY 4.5 trillion), while separately, stablecoins (mainly USDT and USDC) worth roughly USD 300 billion—about ten times that figure—have flowed on-chain. He introduced the latest global trends, including tokenized MMFs as investment vehicles (such as BlackRock’s “BUIDL”), tokenized equities (with the U.S. SEC approving trading on par with listed stocks), and tokenized deposits as infrastructure (JPM Coin, the Singapore-based cross-border settlement network “Partior,” and the public–private initiative “Project Agora”).

Domestically, he reviewed the state of Japan’s security-token market—where real estate accounts for roughly 70–80% of cumulative issuance (with an outstanding balance on the order of JPY 350 billion)—along with emerging trends such as large corporate-bond STs and municipal-bond STs, 24/7/365 trading of U.S. Treasuries, and points of debate around the U.S. CLARITY Act concerning interest on stablecoins, offering an outlook on regulatory development and real demand in Japan.

Panel Discussion (Two Parts)

In Part 1 (Japanese session), moderated by TET Capital COO Yuhong Chen, the theme was “how to create real use cases in Japan,” with panelists Taisuke Isono (SMBC Nikko Securities), Takashi Shimoyama (SBI Ripple Asia), and Masamichi Yamamoto (KPMG Consulting). The discussion delved into practical matters: pathways to commercializing stablecoins and tokenized deposits following legal reform; prepaid tokens and a payments “trust layer” for proprietary economic zones; and the importance of internal consensus-building within traditional financial institutions and of hands-on support that stays close to businesses.

In Part 2 (English session), moderated by Executive Advisor & Investor Guy Wallace, panelists Tsuyoshi Makino (Fireblocks), Hideyuki Kobayashi (Securitize Japan), and Patrick Bayeux (Sphere Lab) took the stage. From a global vantage point, they discussed custody and settlement infrastructure for institutional investors; the rapid growth of RWA tokenization worldwide (recently outpacing the stablecoin market); the structural divergence whereby over 95% of activity globally runs on public chains while Japan centers on private chains; and the streamlining of cross-border settlement—examining the opportunities and challenges of the Japanese market.

Comment from the CEO

Yutaro Hiyama, Founder & CEO of TET Capital, commented:

“From cross-border fund movement to RWA, digital finance now stands at a major inflection point where traditional finance and blockchain intersect. I am deeply honored that leading players from Japan and abroad came together to engage not only in the ‘preparation’ of regulation and technology, but in the essential question of how to turn concrete use cases into reality. TETC will continue to advance the fusion of advanced technology and finance—and the creation of innovation originating from Tokyo and Japan—as a bridge connecting Japan, Asia, and the world.”
